Meisha Amia MSN, RN
Meisha is the creator of Chicks with Cheques, a global network for women. She is the author of “The Bedside Boss: From Scrubs to Six Figures,“ the founder of Bumps of Love Inc. and the co-founder of the Nurse Power Network.
Meisha has took nursing leadership matters into her own hands by taking her role as a travel nurse to different organizations to fill a void from the nursing shortage, high turnover rates and staffing issues that many facilities across the nation are dealing with. With an enormous amount of experience in staffing crisis and retention, Meisha would make her way into the offices of nursing management and unit meetings to explore findings and suggested plans of action that could improve that facility with an overall healthy work environment. Helping these facilities provide exceptional care to their women & infant population in her role as a Travel Nurse, soon became the fuel to pursue an executive leadership degree in nursing.
In 2016 Meisha decided to write a memoir and self-help book. She shared her personal and professional journey as a travel nurse entrepreneur to help others find their way in "The Bedside Boss: From Scrubs to Six Figures." Through Meisha's book, nurses have been able to gain clarity on the travel nurse role and secrets in travel nursing that the industry have kept limited access to. Meisha's long term goals are to take ownership into her own hands and be an advocate and leader for vulnerable teens and single parents dealing with an unplanned pregnancy. In 2017, Meisha gave a soft launch to the community for Bumps of Love Inc., which is her nonprofit to service women's health in vulnerable
communities. Her first initiative provided over 3,000 diapers to single mothers in the community of Cambridge, MD.
To better prepare her for the leadership roles with vulnerable communities, women's health & wellness, and entrepreneurship, Meisha received her Master of Science in Nursing degree with a concentration in executive leadership.
Currently, Meisha is focused on her career growth in the community as a nurse advocate and entrepreneur. Meisha has been awarded by several hospitals for her exceptional patient care as a traveler and she received a community award for her impact as a Nurse from nonprofit organization, Charge Up Campaign. She has been published in Jezebel Magazine and Sheen Magazine. With only 10 years in her nursing career, Meisha has found her journey to be purposeful, impactful and intentional.
